American Television

As of this month, my roommate and I began watching the new television series "Dirt" -- produced by Courtney Cox and her husband David Arquette. It is a provocative show about the gossip/paparazzi industry which embraces subjects that were never "spoken" on regular television before. From time to time, we find ourselves dumbfounded at some of the scenes. If you thought that Sex in the City or Nip/Tuck were revealing, Dirt adds a further stretch. Nonetheless, what is more disturbing is the fact that soon viewers will become numb and accustomed such scenes and topics, like we have with reality television programs.

先週金曜日、ボストンの最低気温がいきなり-16℃となりました。晴天で雪も積もってなかったが、風が出ててとにかく寒い一日でした。人生初でした。ある友人がペットボトルを手に１０分ほど歩いてたら、それを一口飲もうとした際何も出てこなかったそうです。
